Labor and Delivery Room/Recovery Suites

A labor and delivery room is a hospital room that is designed and equipped to provide a woman a safe and comfortable place to deliver her baby. In most hospitals, this room also serves as a recovery suite, where a woman can rest and recover for the first few hours after delivery.

Private Birth Suites

A private birthing suite is a room that is designed and equipped to provide a woman a safe and comfortable place to deliver her baby. In most hospitals, this room also serves as a recovery suite, where a woman can rest and recover for the first few hours after delivery.

Mother-Baby Suites

Mother-baby suites are designed for mother and baby to stay together after baby is born. This suite offers a calm, quiet, peaceful environment in which to spend your first few hours resting and recovering after the birth.

Surgical Suites

Surgical suites, also known as operating rooms, consist of one or more connected sterilized rooms and their adjoining facilities, such as the recovery room. Surgical suites are located in a hospital and are fully equipped for doctors to carry out surgical operations.

Level IIIB NICU

A level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is a special care nursery that is designed and equipped to care for newborns that are born prior to 32 weeks of gestational age or who are otherwise very small or very sick. They can provide mechanical ventilation, imaging, and some surgeries. There is access to many different pediatric specialists.

Baby-friendly means that a maternity facility has successfully implemented the ten steps to successful breastfeeding, which include providing appropriate education to enable families to make informed decisions about infant feeding, encouraging mothers to hold their babies skin-to-skin immediately following birth, and offering expert lactation support throughout and beyond the hospital stay.
