A mammogram can be done for both screening and diagnostic purposes. In both situations, the procedure is the same. A breast ultrasound is an imaging technique commonly used to screen for tumors and other breast abnormalities.
Automated Breast Ultrasound
Automated whole breast ultrasound (ABUS) is a quick, safe, and non-invasive ultrasound examination. ABUS is used as an adjunct to mammography for screening breast cancers in asymptomatic women with dense breasts.
Ultrasound-Guided Breast Biopsy

Stereotactic Breast Biopsy
A stereotactic biopsy is a type of biopsy that can help to diagnose cancerous cells in breast tissue using a mammography machine.
