About Dignity Infusion Center of Ventura

Our Dignity Health Infusion Centers provide outpatient care in an ambulatory setting. We have three convenient locations in Ventura County: Camarillo, Oxnard, and Ventura. Our mission is to provide the highest quality cancer care for every patient who walks through our doors. Our whole body and mind approach integrates wellness practices alongside the latest procedures in a unique multidisciplinary approach. So much more than just medicine goes into treating our cancer patients. Our infusion team consists of top oncology board-certified physicians, and nurses that maintain current Oncology Nursing Society chemotherapy/biotherapy provider cards.

IVIG therapy

Immunotherapy with immunoglobulin (IVIG) is a form of intravenous (IV) immunotherapy that uses immunoglobulin from a healthy donor to help boost a person's immune system. It is primarily given to people with weakened immune systems to help them fight infection more effectively.

Biotech therapies

Biotechnology makes use of living organisms and molecular biology to produce healthcare-related products and therapeutics.

Antiemetic therapy

Antiemetic medications are prescribed to help with nausea and vomiting that are side effects of other drugs. This may include those for anesthesia used during surgeries or chemotherapy.

Osteoporosis treatments

Osteoporosis treatments are focused on increasing bone density and strength. This is done through exercise, which increases the strength of muscles and bones, as well as calcium and vitamin D supplements, and the use of medication either taken orally or via injections.

Therapeutic phlebotomy

Therapeutic phlebotomy is a procedure performed in an outpatient setting to remove red blood cells from the body.

Non-chemo injections and vaccinations

When a person is receiving chemotherapy as a cancer treatment, it is recommended that they not receive any non-chemo injections or vaccinations. The one exception to this is getting the flu shot to protect them from seasonal influenza.

Infusion of chemotherapy and biotherapy

Infusion of chemotherapy or biotherapy involves the delivery of chemotherapy drugs, hormones, vaccines, and bacteria via a needle or catheter to fight cancer. This allows the medication to be delivered directly into the bloodstream at a controlled rate.

Infusion of hydration, antiemetics, and electrolytes

Infusion of hydration, antiemetic's, and electrolytes involves the delivery of a fluid that contains water, electrolytes, nitrogen, trace elements, and fat-soluble vitamins via a needle or catheter. This allows these substances to be delivered directly into the bloodstream at a controlled rate.

PICC and port-a-cath care, blood draws, and port flushing

PICC lines and port-a-caths should be flushed using a sterile saline solution each time blood is drawn or a medication is delivered. This is done to prevent the blood from clotting and blocking the line or port.
