Colon
Otolaryngology focuses on the ears, nose, and throat. It is also called otolaryngology-head and neck surgery because specialists are trained in both medicine and surgery. An otolaryngologist is often called an ear, nose, and throat doctor, or an ENT for short.
Hemorrhoids
Hemorrhoids also called piles, are swollen veins in your anus and lower rectum that may cause discomfort and bleeding.
Lymph Node Biopsy
Lymph node biopsy is a procedure in which all or part of a lymph node is removed and checked under a microscope for signs of infection or disease.
Metabolic Surgery
Metabolic surgery describes a variety of treatments and procedures used to help weight loss in patients with metabolic disease, such as type 2 diabetes. Examples of treatments use are gastric bypass and bilio-pancreatic diversion surgeries.
Screening and Diagnostic Endoscopy
An endoscopy can be done for both screening and diagnostic purposes. In both situations, the procedure is the same. However, a screening endoscopy is done as part of a routine health check to look for early signs of disease, whereas a diagnostic endoscopy is done to confirm the presence of disease when it is already suspected.
Thyroid and Parathyroid
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland that is located at the base of the front of the neck that uses iodine from food to produce hormones that play a role in regulating metabolism, heartrate, body temperature, and other bodily activities. There are also four parathyroid glands located behind the thyroid that produces the parathyroid hormone that helps control the amount of calcium in the bloodstream.
Whipple Procedure
Whipple procedure is an operation to remove the head of the pancreas, the first part of the small intestine, the gallbladder and the bile duct.
