Tracheostomy Tube and Ventilator Dependent
People who have breathing problems may have a tracheostomy and may also need breathing support from a mechanical ventilator. Tracheostomy tube cuff remains inflated (these patients are often ventilator dependent) with use of separate air sources for ventilation and phonation. Specialty cannula, allows for voicing while tracheostomy tube cuff remains inflated
Wound Care
Wound care involves every stage of wound management. This includes diagnosing wound type, considering factors that affect wound healing, and the proper treatments for wound management.
Child Life Activity & Educational programs
The Children’s Subacute Center is built around caring for the whole child, and that means providing emotional, physical, and intellectual care, as well as medical. From the built-for-children Snoezelen Room’s sensory therapy to ongoing activity and educational programming, the whole child is wholly considered.
Outpatient Therapy: Physical, Occupational & Speech
Outpatient therapy services make it possible for people to access physical, occupational, and speech therapy without the need to be admitted to a hospital. Outpatient therapy can be offered by a clinic located in the hospital or a separate facility.
Resident and Family counseling and support
Having a child with a long-term, clinically complex condition is emotionally and psychologically challenging — not just for the child, but for those who love them and manage their care. We provide on-site counseling and other support services for the resident patient, as well as their family.
Resident and Family specialized care education/training
We know care for your child doesn’t stop at our walls, and we work to set your family up for success and the highest possible quality of life outside of, and after, our direct care. We educate the resident patient and their family/caretakers about the child's specific condition, as well as train them with the specialized approaches they'll need to best manage it.
